DVM Five years (Morning) Admission open at UAAR

DVM Five years (Morning) F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with at least 50% marks. Candidate must have domicile from the districts of Barani areas of Punjab and Islamabad. For Open Merit seats are on all Punjab basis. DISPLAY OF LISTS: List of selected candidates will be displayed on September 14, 2011 on Notice Boards of the respective Admission Office. FEE/DUES: Last Date to deposit the Fee/Dues is September 17, 2011. COMMENCEMENT OF CLASSES: Classes will start from September 26, 2011. IMPORTANT NOTE The Application Package containing the prospectus and admission form will be available from the offices of the respective Faculties/Institutes/Division on payment of Rs. 700/- in cash. Applications, complete in all respects, accompanied by the academic credentials, domicile certificate, migration certificate etc. must be submitted to the respective admission office within the due date. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. GAT (General) is compulsory with 50% pass marks for admission in M.Sc (Hons.)/M.Phil/MS. GAT (Subject) is compulsory with 60% pass marks for admission in Ph.D where applicable. Interview of those who qualify for Ph.D will be held on 13.9.2011 at 9:00a.m. in respective Faculties. Applicants must have obtained all the pre-requisite qualifications from the recognized institutions. No separate intimation for admission, fee schedule, etc. will be sent. Students awaiting results may also apply but must provide the result card before 12.9.2011. Students can calculate their own merit based on criteria available in respective admission offices.

B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture Admission open now

B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture 4 years (Morning/Evening) F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with at least 50% Marks or equivalent. Candidates must have domicile from Districts of Barani Areas of Punjab other than open merit, special quotas and evening program. For each quota separate application form should be submitted. For Cholistan quota, certificate of Cholistan Authority mentioning that the area falls in cholistan should be attached alongwith the application form. Application forms of nominated candidates of different quotas should be submitted alongwith nomination before the closing date. Schedule of enrollment will be strictly followed. USAID Funded Merit and Needs-Based Scholarships Program

Higher Education Commission (HEC) aims to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy & deserving students by providing access to quality education through needs-based scholarships. Government of Pakistan has also duly acknowledged the financial constraints barring students from acquiring higher education and has thus earmarked substantial funds for the improvement of education sector. According to the national income statistics (by GOP) 80 percent of the families in Pakistan cannot afford the expenses of sending even one boarder to a local public university. Pakistan finished last among a group of 40 countries ranked by the Percentage Share of Enrollment in Private Higher Education (A study by World Bank, 1994) , Higher Education: The Lessons of Experience, 1994). On September 11, 2002 the GOP formed the Higher Education Commission (HEC) through a Cabinet Ordinance with a "mandate to transform institutions of higher education into world class seats of learning." In pursuance of the Government’s initiative of providing financial relief to meritorious but deprived students, an agreement of US$ 7.33 million in July 2004 is signed with United State Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide grant for scholarships in the field of Agriculture and Business Administration at undergraduate & graduate level.

International Climate Protection Fellowship of the Alexander von Foundation

International Climate Protection Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation CIPSEM operates as partner of the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, which is granting up to twenty International Climate Protection Fellowships annually. This project is part of the International Climate Initiative (ICI). The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) supports the initiative based on a decision of the German Federal Parliament. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is running the program, which is currently scheduled to last until 2012/2013, in cooperation with: * The Federation of German Industries (BDI), * The Centre of International Postgraduate Studies in Environmental Management (CIPSEM) at TU Dresden, * The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), * Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), * Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and * The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC). This fellowship enables the recipients to conduct a research-related project of their own choice with hosts in Germany whom they are free to choose themselves. Coordinate Systems

Coordinate Systems When specifying positions you can use Cartesian or Polar Coordinates. Cartesian coordinates are simply a X value, a comma, and a Y value, for example: 100,100. Polar coordinates are a Distance followed by a < symbol and an angle, for example: 10<25. Angles are measured in degrees, with 0 = East and 90 = North. Any of these numbers can have decimal values. (AutoCAD is a three dimensional CAD system, so you can enter XYZ values instead of the XY values shown here) The positions specified above are "absolute coordinates", because they specify a particular position. AutoCAD can also use "relative coordinates" to specify a position relative to the current position, for example: @5.6,-3.4 and @16.32<62. (Consider relative coordinates simply as distances)

If you can't see the rectangle, type z [space] a [space] (zoom all) - this instructs AutoCAD to redraw the view, "zooming out" to show all the graphics on the drawing.

Ø  When I want you to type a command in the command area the AutoCAD command will be written like: Type: QSAVE (This means: type the text (qsave) and then press the Enter key or the space-bar) (Not all commands are on the Menus and/or toolbars) Select the command from a menu. Ø  When I want you to select a command from a menu, it will look like: Select File – Save (This means: click on the 'File' menu and then 'Save' which is one of the items on the 'File' menu). COMPUTER AIDED ENGINEERING DRAWING Introduction to AutoCAD Environment Starting Autocad   Start AutoCAD by clicking on the Windows Start button (bottom left), then move the mouse to Programs then CAD and Modeling then "AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2" and click on AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2. A dialog giving various startup options will be displayed. Select the second option: "Start from Scratch" and click OK. Once you have loaded AutoCAD, move the mouse around until you see a crosshair cursor. The AutoCAD window has a number of important features:  Figure 1       AutoCAD screen. The standard Windows drop-down menus. The standard Windows toolbar below the menus, it includes: File-New, File-Open, File-Save, Print and "Find and Replace"(!!).  In addition to the standard toolbar there will be a number of AutoCAD specific toolbars: Object Properties, Draw and Modify (there may be others...?). The graphics areas - that's the area where you draw - note the scroll bars and the axis label. View Tabs - these 'tabs' give access to different view of the current drawing. The "model" tab should be selected at present. The command area - this small window (by default) has space for three lines of text - this is where you type commands. The status area, at the bottom of the AutoCAD window, this includes the current cursor position.

CEILING FUNCTION

CEILING FUNCTION The function which gives the smallest integer , shown as the thick curve in the above plot. Schroeder (1991) calls the ceiling function symbols the "gallows" because of the similarity in appearance to the structure used for hangings. The name and symbol for the ceiling function were coined by K. E. Iverson (Graham et al. 1994). The ceiling function is implemented in Mathematica as Ceiling[z], where it is generalized to complex values of as illustrated above. Although some authors used the symbol to denote the ceiling function (by analogy with the older notation for the flour function), this practice is strongly discouraged (Graham et al. 1994, p. 67). Also strongly discouraged is the use of the symbol to denote the ceiling function (e.g., Harary 1994, pp. 91, 93, and 118-119), since this same symbol is more commonly used to denote the fractional part of . Since usage concerning fractional part/value and integer part/value can be confusing, the following table gives a summary of names and notations used. Here, S&O indicates Spanier and Oldham (1987).
